Treatment: All Thai silk shrinks 1-5% when it is washed. We can treat your silk to make it softer, easier to iron, harder to wrinkle, and pre-shrunk for just US$1.00/yard. Click here for more info about this secret Thai process.
Notes:
Thai silk is quite different from Indian & Chinese silk. We can weave any Jim Thomson fabric for less. We recommend that silk that to be used for upholstery have knit backing attached to significantly increase it's strength and greatly reduce the possibility of any stretching of the fabric over time.

No minimum length is required if fabric is in stock. Four yards minimum length per piece of fabric is required if silk is not in stock and must be woven to order. If you have a question, want some help with the ordering process, or want to pay by check or money transfer fill out the form below.

Footnote: In the past, four threads (4-ply) were needed in the weft to create this type of cloth. Modern technological developments in the breeding of silkworms now enables us to create a single (1-ply) silk yarn equal in diameter to four normal silk threads of years gone by. For that reason, the weavers still refer to this as “4-ply".
